Delivering Support for Small Businesses and Nonprofits

Small businesses and nonprofits throughout the state are suddenly struggling to survive after closing to help us stay safe during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Consumers Energy is committed to helping Michigan’s small business and nonprofit community prosper, now more than ever. As such we have partnered with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, the Enterprise Group, the Anchor Initiative and the Nonprofit Network to develop a COVID-19 Survival Toolkit. The toolkit assists with navigation through the difficult process of re-tooling your business and moving forward during these challenging times – including helping you connect with potential sources of relief under the federal CARES Act. Elements of the toolkit include a check list of actions to take immediately, a cash flow budget template, a tool to evaluate unemployment for your employees, and calculators for federal incentives such as the Paycheck Protection Program and Employee Retention Credits.
